The program will be deployed in schools and other educational institutions (public or private) in Malawi with the help of local partners such as the Ministry of Education and the Road Traffic and Safety Directorate.
The objective of the program is to strengthen young people’s knowledge in road safety and enable them to develop their thinking and adapt their behavior to their own environment. It will work directly with 10 schools in Blantyre and aim to initially reach 10,000 students over a 6-month period.
The event was attended by representatives from the Directorate of Road Traffic and Safety (South); the Blantyre District Education Manager, Health and Nutrition Coordinator; the Regional Road Traffic Officer; the Mayor of the City of Blantyre; the Malawi Roads Authority; and the Road Traffic Alert Foundation.
