Total Malawi's General Trade department held a B2C card training for service station attendants on 2 August 2019 which precedes the introduction of this new card in the network.

Speaking at the training Henry Finch, Head of GT, explained that the B2C card is meant to improve penetration by targeting individual customers, minibuses and taxi's while also offering several benefits to the customer which the attendants are to emphasize to potential customers.

"Apart from providing differentiation, quality, and convenience the card is important for tracking consumption and managing fuel. You will have to be the first to own the card and push it," he told the attendants.

The introduction of the card is starting with a pilot phase involving 7 stations and will expand from these over time. Apart from locking in individual customers the card is meant to simplify the process of acquiring a card by making it available at the stations where before the customer could only go through all processes and get one from the Head office.
