TotalEnergies Marketing Malawi observes Business Ethics Day

The Business Ethics Day is our annual event dedicated to convey a common message about Ethics, Compliance and Human Rights across the Company. This day is set aside every December to celebrate the event. This year the Business Ethics Day was marked on 8th December 2022. The theme for this year is “Respect for each other, Everybody wins!”

The main focus on this special day is to

• educate employees on the specific topics of ethics, compliance and human rights
• ensure that everyone knows where to turn in case of doubt or finding a breach of our code of conduct
• use the event to help employees feel more comfortable about voicing their concerns
• promote a speak up culture within the organization

TotalEnergies Marketing Malawi marked the day with an interactive workshop with case studies that allowed employees exhibit their understanding and application of our code of conduct and core values.

Speaking during the event, TotalEnergies Marketing Malawi’s Managing Director and Country Chair, Nerusha Govender highlighted that at a corporate level "Business Ethics means honoring our commitments and rejecting corruption in all its forms. It derives from our core value of respect for each other which entails committing to valuing diversity; having respect for human lives, causing no harm to the environment and managing the impact of climate change. At an individual level it means listening to each other and preferring to choose what is ethical over that which gives material gain".
